Qantas to Begin Service on Brisbane-Tokyo Route

With the help of our Government and without investment from Qantas, Brisbane International Airport is set to offer direct flights to Japan on December 1st. This is being done as part of a AUD 200 million package that has been put together for international visitors by the government, to bring more people to Queensland.

Flight schedule to Tokyo

If you’re headed for Japan, fly out on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday and follow the below schedule: QF61 Departs Brisbane International Airport (BNE) at 11:50 AM and arrives in Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) at 20:00 PM The return produces Monday, Thursday, and Saturday departures. QF62 serves Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) at 21:30, arriving at Brisbane International Airport (BNE) at 07:35 the following day. With a flight time of nine hours and 30 minutes, you’ll be able to stretch out in the 28-lie flat business class seats or enjoy the economy seating in the 269 seats of the rear of the aircraft. Your seat selection is limited on the route, but at least what’s available is this vintage model. Australians flock to Japan in order to enjoy their favorite activity – skiing. Qantas has noted that forward booking is tracking well and will continue to stay strong.

You might not believe the bold claim, but stealing Virgin Australia’s thunder is no easy feat.

Virgin had high hopes for its new Brisbane location, announcing direct flights to Japan before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. When the airline’s fortunes soured, it initiated insolvency proceedings and relinquished many routes such as all its long-haul services. Virgin’s new owners, Bain Capital returned all of their Airbus A330s and Boeing 777s back to their holding company. The airline states that Virgin Australia has retained its capacity allocation in Tokyo Haneda, with the intention of introducing Australia-Japan services in the future.
