Singapore International Airport – How Long Do I Need to Connect?

Wherever you’re headed, Singapore’s Changi is a destination on its own. Not only is the airport itself a destination, but it also has connections to hundreds of other places across the globe. The process of accessing and finding your next flight can be complicated for those unfamiliar with the airport. Here are simply steps that can help you navigate between endpoints in Changi Airport.

What is the layout of Singapore’s Changi Airport?

Terminal 2 is the flag carrier terminus for Singapore Airlines and all other airlines from Southeast Asia. If you are flying with them, you might end up in Terminal 2, depending on their departure gate. Meanwhile, Terminals 1 and 4 will be reopened in September 2022 and have a broad range of carriers operating there. If you’re looking for an easy way to get around the airport, bus transfers are a convenient option. For transit options that take approximately six minutes, all you need to do is walk. If you’re trying to catch a flight on time, taking the Skytrain can save you from any major delays on your journey.

How do you get to each terminal?

With all three terminals connected with fast moving people-mover trains, it’s easy and quick to get around at the airport. Here’s a quick guide for your next trip: Transfer A links to transfer F on Terminal 3 and there is a line moving over to the far left of the terminal. Begin to walk through Terminal 3, heading over to Terminal 2. Terminal 2 transfers E not only links back to Terminal 1 and B, but also transfers D. On the opposite side of Terminal 1, transfer C to Terminal 3’s transfer B. There is a shuttle bus from Terminal 2 to Terminal 4. It runs all around the apron, so keep your eye out for it. Buses to Terminal 4 operate in a loop from Terminal 1 (Gate C21) to T3. If you want to visit the Jewel garden and waterfall, find the link between transfer B and transfer E on the airside. The Jewel is located landside and requires one to leave the secure area. What is the time required to establish a connection and transfer? It’s a good idea to transfer your funds between the two accounts at the following times. If you’re traveling from T1, T2, or T3 to the United States, make sure you allot at least an hour for your travel time. Remember, you’ll need to clear security when you arrive and check your bags through before checking in again. Clearing immigration and checking in again will require a minimum of 3 hours. Terminal 4 is one of the busiest stations in London, so we recommend having a minimum travel time of at least 1.5-2 hours. Given the availability of buses, it’s best to arrive slightly earlier than originally planned. 3-4 hours is often the length of time you’ll want to spend at Changi Airport.
