Airbus A350 Takes Delivery of 20th Air France
Air France has welcomed their 20th Airbus A350-900 to their fleet. This latest delivery is one of 38 the airline has on order so they’re in the midst of a fleet simplification strategy. Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, both part of Air France-KLM Group, are planning to operate 116 aircraft using Airbus A330s and A350s and Boeing 787s and 777s. The 19th delivery of this type arrived just last month.
Fleet simplification is still going strong with the airline.
Airbus A350 was selected to replace the airline’s Airbus A380. It’s set to be retired, so it is best for them to choose a local firm. The new aircraft is a far more efficient and environmentally friendly option for airlines. The product offers 25% less fuel consumption when compared to previous-generation aircrafts. Passengers will experience the airline’s latest in-flight entertainment and WiFi, which allows you to connect with your customers more easily than ever before. On November 26th, the inaugural flight of its kind will depart from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), bound for Lima’s Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) as AF480. Spectators in Paris looking for a photo-op can expect the flight to depart at 13:10 and arrive in Lima around 19:40 with a 12½ hour flight time. The new A380 aircraft offers more seats than ever. It features 324 seats, with 34 in business and 26 in premium economy. There are 24 in economy and 266 in the main cabin at the back of the aircraft. The windows are a lot bigger, offer 30% larger views, and there is also no middle seat. An Air France CEO is excited about how this model will benefit their customers. Air France has run their Airbus A350 in the trial periods, and they’re pleased with the first results. They’re getting high customer satisfaction and operational performance, plus they have reduced environmental impact.
